Stud & Star

Our Story

A knitwear atelier in Puglia, a box of gold studs, and the idea that a garment should never be printed.

The bench

Stud & Star was born on a workbench in Puglia, in the same atelier where our family has been programming knitting machines and finishing garments for years. We knew two things that do not usually meet: how industrial garments are actually made, and how hardware is actually set. One evening a box of knurled brass studs ended up next to a washed black hoodie, and the first constellation happened by hand, before it had a name.

The rule

Every brand we admired had one rule it never broke. Ours arrived on day one: never printed. Ink is a promise that fades; metal is a promise that wears in. If a design cannot be said in brass, thread or construction, we do not say it. That single sentence decides everything downstream: the hardware, the seams that carry it, the wash tests, the repair kit in every box.

The number

We make thirty pieces per style. Not because scarcity is fashionable, but because thirty is what one bench can set by hand without rushing a single stud. The number is stamped in the metal, logged in a registry, and never re-cut. When someone returns a numbered piece, that same number goes back on sale: the edition never grows.

The people

We are a small house: the bench, the fashion designers who draw the Celestial line with us, and the machines one floor down. No showroom, no middlemen. You buy from the people who set the stars, and if you ever lose one, the same hands set it back. Free, forever.

Where we are going

A drop at a time. New skies for the Constellation, new pieces graduating from the Atelier page, a journal written slowly from the bench. If the house grows, it grows the way the garments are made: one piece, checked, then the next.

Hand-set in Italy

Every stud fixed by hand through the fabric, with an internal washer. Cut, sewn and finished in our atelier.

Never printed

No prints, no logos. The hardware is the only signature, stamped in gold-finish knurled metal.

Re-set for life

A spare stud in every box. If you ever lose one, we re-set it free, forever.
